Your Buyer’s Guide to the 2025 Honda Ridgeline

When Honda introduced the Ridgeline for the 2006 model year, it was unlike anything previously seen. As it nears its twentieth year in 2025, the Ridgeline still stands alone. Part midsize pickup, part crossover SUV, and all cool, the Ridgeline offers the best qualities of modern utilitarian vehicles for those who think any terrain is ripe for adventure.
At Eskridge Honda, we have the 2025 Honda Ridgeline for sale to conquer roads and trails from Tulsa to Cimarron County. If you’re new to midsize pickups—or pickups in general—you may be wondering why the Ridgeline should be your pick. The following buyer’s guide reviews how this unique vehicle brings performance, comfort, style, and personality to Southwestern drivers.
Power and Fuel Economy
The first area in which the 2025 Ridgeline differs from its peers is under the hood. It eschews the “turbo-four” trend in midsize models for a naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 delivering 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. That’s more horses than the base engine in any other midsize peer, including the Ford Ranger and Chevy Colorado—and it comes without the “turbo lag” of these counterparts.
This V6 is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive (AWD) is standard issue on all Ridgelines. Such a combination offers solid fuel efficiency, with an EPA-estimated 21 MPG combined (18 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway). With a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs, you can ferry ATVs, utility trailers, horse trailers, and even a large camper, giving you the brawn for all your hobbies.
Suspension and Chassis
This is where the Ridgeline starts living up to its “crossover truck” moniker. Unlike a traditional body-on-frame truck design, the 2025 Ridgeline retains its hallmark unibody design. A unibody vehicle is much lighter than a body-on-frame with more rigid construction, a lower center of gravity, and better shock absorption—three reasons why the Ridgeline feels more like a car on paved roads.
There’s also a sturdy front suspension with MacPherson struts, an independent multi-link rear suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, lightweight alloy wheels, and Honda’s Vehicle Stability Assist traction control system for a smooth-as-silk driving experience.
Off-Roading TrailSport Trim
Do you want a midsize truck tuned for the remote trails, dunes, and scrublands? Check out the 2025 Honda Ridgeline TrailSport. Introduced in 2024, it’s making an encore appearance with multiple upgrades for off-roading and soft-roading. These include a tuned suspension, General Grabber all-terrain tires, and steel underbody skid plates. You also get special-edition pewter gray tires, all-season floor mats, an exclusive mesh grille insert, and black and orange accents for stylish getaways.

Cabin and Cargo Areas
The stable, quiet ride isn’t the only way the 2025 Ridgeline has a crossover’s soul. Its five-seat interior is surprisingly roomy for a midsize truck; you get 40.9 inches of front legroom and 36.7 inches of rear legroom, so kids and friends don’t feel cramped; they’ll feel even cozier with tri-zone automatic climate control and humidity management.
Most trims have LED front map lights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a power sliding rear window, and a one-touch power moonroof to enjoy the starry night sky. The RTL and TrailSport trims have heated front seats with 10-way driver adjustments; the TrailSport adds a heated steering wheel. The Ridgeline Black Edition heats the rear outboard seats and ventilates the front seats, too.
As for cargo, all 2025 Ridgelines have a five-foot bed that holds just under 34 cu.ft. of cargo with a 1,583-lb payload capacity. That’s only half the story, though, as a lockable under-bed trunk gives you another 7.3 cu.ft. of storage space, which you can turn into an ice chest for camping and tailgating. (There’s even a drain plug for after the ice melts.) Speaking of, the tailgate on the Ridgeline is dual-action like a classic station wagon, opening down or to one side for easy access. Finally, there’s about three cubic feet of storage underneath the second row. Suffice it to say you can fit anything you need in the Ridgeline.
Media and Technology
Honda is known for packing as much modern tech as possible into every vehicle it makes. The 2025 Ridgeline continues this with numerous standard features linking to a nine-inch infotainment touchscreen. You’ll have the world at your fingertips with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth streaming audio and hands-free calling, a wireless charging pad, multiple USB ports, speed-sensitive automatic volume adjustments, and HondaLink smartphone control. You’ll hear all your tunes and shows through a seven-speaker, 215-watt sound system.
Would you believe that’s only grazing the surface? All trims except the baseline Sport are SiriusXM-ready with a three-month free trial, while the TrailSport adds a built-in navigation system with voice recognition. The Ridgeline Black Edition is the most impressive with an HD radio, two rear USB-C charging ports, and a 540-watt sound system to hear every note.
Safety and Driver Assistance
From erratic drivers to dust storms, trouble is lurking on Oklahoma roads. You’ll be ready, though, in the 2025 Ridgeline. The tech-savviness extends to safety with the Honda Sensing Suite, which includes collision mitigation braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic monitoring, automatic high beams, and—in the TrailSport and Black Edition trims—front and rear parking sensors.
Beyond this, each Ridgeline receives a host of active and passive safety features. Other ways Honda aids its Ridgeline owners are LED low-beam headlights, brake lights, and fog lights; antilock brakes with braking assistance; and a multi-angle rearview camera. TrailSport and Black Edition owners also receive LED daytime running lights.
If a problem strikes, the 2025 Ridgeline is constructed to protect its occupants. The Ridgeline earned a five-star safety score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It comes with front, front side, and side curtain airbags plus second-row lowered seat belt anchors and tethers for a better fit when children are along for the ride. The ACE Body Structure absorbs and disperses frontal impact energy so less is transferred to passengers.

Customization Packages
Do you want even more from your 2025 Ridgeline? Honda has you covered with five optional factory packages that add useful features, sweet style, or both. Here’s an overview of each upgrade bundle:
- Function Package: Get more done while protecting your truck with an in-bed cargo net, utility hooks, scratch-resistant door sill film, and all-season floor mats (except on the TrailSport, which already comes with them).
- Function+ Package: Enjoy everything from the Function Package plus a hard cargo cover to secure your luggage and toys.
- Utility Package: Get factory-installed roof rails and cross bars to attach everything from cargo cases to bicycles.
- Utility+ Package: Running boards join the preceding package, making entry/exit easier and protecting the doors from debris.
- Tailgate Blackout Package: Show off the rear of your truck with gloss-black Honda and Ridgeline emblems.
