Our Legacy

Eskridge Honda is the oldest Honda dealership in Oklahoma, having opened our doors in 1970, but our legacy began decades before, with Edward Eskridge shaping the state’s automotive landscape as he pursued his childhood dream. Edward showed an entrepreneurial spirit at an early age, spending his childhood alongside his father at Oklahoma Hudson in downtown Oklahoma City. His experience at his father’s business fostered his incredible work ethic and passion for serving others.

Edward worked diligently to bring his dream of owning a dealership to life, with his work ethic serving him well. He partnered with his brother-in-law, Art King, to open Eskridge Oldsmobile, and he promptly built his reputation around his customer-centric approach, integrity, and willingness to go the extra mile to make everyone feel at ease and like part of the family. His stellar reputation served him incredibly well, inspiring him to expand the business with new marquees.

In 1970, Edward took a leap of faith and bought into Honda, a brand known then for its motorcycles. Fortunately, the risk proved worthwhile as Eskridge Honda flourished and Oklahoma drivers discovered the appeal of best-selling models like the Civic and Accord. Over the next several decades, growth continued as Edward moved and expanded his Oldsmobile and Honda dealerships, also making history for opening one of the first Lexus dealerships in the country.

Today, Eskridge Honda is grateful to continue Edward’s incredible legacy, remaining steadfast in honoring his customer-centric approach. Even with his outstanding success in the industry, Edward never lost sight of the reason for his success and stayed loyal to his family—his family at home and his family at the dealership. That loyalty defines everything we do as the most trusted Honda dealer in the state.

This program awards scholarships to four semi-finalists, with the winner awarded a scholarship and a new car from our inventory.
