Honda is committed to keeping its drivers and their fellow passengers as safe as possible out there on the streets of Oklahoma City, OK and beyond. This commitment is evidenced in the brand's new Honda Sensing™ trim which puts automotive safety on a pedestal. This sophisticated suite of both passive and active safety features is designed to detect potential accidents before they even occur, sensing pending danger or driving problems you may otherwise have missed. Some of its systems are designed to help you to avoid a collision altogether, whereas others seek to mitigate its severity--either way, Honda Sensing™ prioritizes your automotive safety each and every time you get behind the wheel.
You see, Honda looks beyond government regulations and by thoroughly studying and analyzing real-world driving scenarios, have been able to develop new technologies that bring driver and passenger safety to new heights. Read on to learn a little more about what Honda Sensing Trim™ vehicles come equipped with.
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
LDW has the ability to detect if and when you depart from your lane unintentionally, and keeps you in check with the aid of flashing alerts and sounds to help bring your attention to correcting the lane drift.
Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
When you're on long drives, or even are just a tad bit distracted, you might find yourself having the tendency to not stay perfectly centered in your designated lane. LKAS self-adjusts your steering to keep you standard if you begin to leave the center of a detected lane without signaling.
Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
RDM alerts drivers with steering wheel vibrations if you find yourself inadvertently drifting too close to the side of the detected roadway while driving at highway speeds.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
ACC helps Honda drivers to maintain a set following interval, without requiring you to change your speed manually.
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
The FCW system uses a small camera mounted at the top of the front windshield to detect an automotive presence before you. If it sense that you are following too closely which could result in an accident, the system will alert you.
Collision Mitigation Braking Sytem™ (CMBS™)
CMBS is designed to bring your vehicle to a stop when the system detects that a collision with a vehicle in front of you is unavoidable. For example, if you are cut off by traffic, the warning will sound, and if needed, brake pressure is automatically applied.
